Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 2026
BCLR Limited ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the BCLR Atelier client portal, in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and applicable United States data privacy laws.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following data about you:
- Identity Data: First name, last name, and username.
- Contact Data: Email address and telephone numbers.
- Technical Data: Internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting, and operating system.
- Profile Data: Your membership number, project details, guardianship and concierge requests, and correspondence within the portal.
2. How We Use Your Information
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- To register you as a new client and manage your Atelier account.
- To deliver the services you have requested, including managing projects, scheduling consultations, and attending to guardianship and concierge requests.
- To manage our relationship with you, including notifying you about changes to our terms or privacy policy.
- To administer and protect our business and this portal (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, and system maintenance).
3. Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered, or disclosed. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
4. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. By law, we have to keep basic information about our clients for six years after they cease being clients for tax purposes.
5. Your Legal Rights
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction of your personal data.
- Request erasure of your personal data.
- Object to processing of your personal data.
- Request restriction of processing your personal data.
- Request transfer of your personal data.
- Right to withdraw consent.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact us.
6. Third-Party Service Providers and International Transfers
We use carefully selected third parties to operate the Atelier, acting as data processors on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication and data storage), Netlify (hosting), and Resend (email delivery). Each processes your personal data only on our instructions and under contractual safeguards. Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement, in accordance with UK GDPR.
7. Print Concierge and Third-Party Suppliers
Where you use our Print Concierge service, we act as your agent in arranging print production with third-party printing suppliers. To fulfil an order, we may share with the relevant supplier only the information necessary to produce and deliver your commission, such as your company name, delivery address, and the artwork itself.
While we select suppliers with care and oversee each commission, printed goods are manufactured and delivered by third parties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BCLR Limited is not liable for delays, defects, or losses caused by third-party printing suppliers or carriers, and our liability in connection with any print commission is limited to re-arranging the commission or refunding the charges paid to BCLR for that commission. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any matter for which liability cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales. If you deal with us as a consumer, your statutory rights, including those under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, are unaffected.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues, at ico.org.uk.
